THOR THOR THOR

I thought this film was thoroughly entertaining, surprisingly hilarious (a mix of character driven stuff and slapstick done really quite well), and like someone above mentioned, infinitely better than Man of Steel, if just because Thor seemed to show some human attachment to people he was supposed to be saving even as buildings were getting destroyed around him.

It’s a shame Eccleston’s scenes got cut, because his villain did end up being utterly unconvincing. It goes without saying that Tom Huddleston was marvelous though. What I like about him is, apart from being a talented, classically trained actor, is that he treats his role with genuine affection and respect 1) because he’s not a snob and 2) because superhero stories are our rough, contemporary approximations of tales of people like Odysseus or Hercules or Achilles or whichever ancient Greek happened to be tearing shit up back in the day. It’s possible Mr Bradshaw found this so dull because he refused to actually critically engage with it (the comment about Malekith overshadowing Loki despite possibly/probably having less screen time makes me think this is the case), maybe he genuinely didn’t like it. His loss either way.

Its A Must See!!!
